Those large open windows look just gorgeous when you first walk into the home. The problem is, they are not very usable. They can often let too much light in, the glare blocks the television or worse yet, massive amounts of heat and cold enter through those awkward areas. The affordable solution is to cover them up with some arched blinds. Most can be made with a template if your arch is imperfect. The movable cellular shades have got to be made perfect. You can cut them on site but the manufacture will not do this for you.
We offer four types of the cellular and pleated type blinds. The first is the standard stationary celled arch. It looks like a bees hive when turned sideways and is highly energy efficent. It sits in your window and stays that way. You cannot move it but is look very nice and can be made to any shape with a template.
The next is the movable arch. It folds over just like a fan. You have to be able to reach it in order to operate the blind and it stacks up on the side of itself. It works great for areas where you can adjust the lighting easily. You cannot make a template with this. They must be a perfect arch where the height equals exactly half the width.
The movable Sunset by Comfortex is a movable arch that goes up and down. This is the most expensive but it is the most functional. If you can reach the bottom of the arch (even with and extension pole), you can operate it. You can make a template with this for any arch or eyebrows type op[ening. This is not available with the blackout material. it has to be light filtering.
Lastly are the pleated arches. They are our most affordable arch. The main difference between these and the stationary celled arch is that it does not have the cell construction as the other ones. It is a fabric that looks like a folded pleat. The fabric quality however is often nicer than the cellular arch.
If you have questions on how they operate or how to make a template, please call.
